I recently heard about TollBit, a Boston-based startup that has secured around $7 million in pre-seed and seed funding. The company aims to create a marketplace for publishers and AI companies, allowing publishers to make their verified content available to AI companies for a fee. This could potentially solve the challenges that AI companies face in accessing content and signing licensing agreements.

There was also news about Elon Musk’s bid to buy Twitter Inc., where the CEO, Parag Agrawal, was faced with the decision of whether to accept Musk’s offer of $54.20 per share in cash. Ultimately, the board agreed to sell the company to Musk, leading to Agrawal and his executive team being ousted from the company. They are currently suing Musk for allegedly not paying them their severance packages.

In addition, there is a three-way proxy fight at Walt Disney Co., with small shareholders being courted for their votes on a new marketplace called Shareholder Vote Exchange. There are also discussions about refinancing a debt package that supported Elon Musk’s take-private of Twitter.

Other financial news includes discussions about the Alpha Architect 1-3 Month Box ETF, potential violations of the US tax code, global miners calling on LME to introduce a green premium for nickel, and Singapore’s Temasek investing in OpenAI.

Stay Well!
