I recently came across some interesting news related to the financial markets. One of the articles I read discussed the upcoming 6-month T-Bills auction and how falling interest rates are impacting fixed deposit rates and long-term interest rates. Another article focused on the departure of DBS CEO Piyush Gupta and the subsequent 6% drop in the bank’s stock. Additionally, there was an analysis of Nvidia’s $2.8 trillion valuation and the factors contributing to its rise in the market. The newsletter also provided insights into the recent stock market crashes and offered recommendations for positioning investment portfolios in response to market price action and recession risk.

In addition to this, I learned about the ongoing chip race between America and China. The US government has been working to secure a domestic chip supply chain and restrict China’s access to it. Meanwhile, China has been intensifying its efforts to develop and secure its own semiconductor supply chain. Despite the US government’s efforts, China’s semiconductor buildout continues to progress, while America’s catch-up attempt in the semiconductor industry is slower in comparison.

Overall, the newsletters provided a comprehensive overview of the current financial and economic landscape, covering topics such as interest rates, stock market dynamics, and the competition in the semiconductor industry between America and China.

Stay Well!
