Today, I came across some interesting news in the financial world. Rubrik has agreed to acquire Predibase, a low-code ML platform that had raised $28 million. Xero has also made a move by acquiring Melio, a New York-based SMB bill pay platform for $2.5 billion in cash and stock. Ambarella, a chipmaker, is reportedly considering a sale, which has caught the attention of investors. Additionally, ESPN has acquired a minority stake in Premier Lacrosse League, while Gorilla Technology Group has agreed to acquire Thai customer engagement tech company CNS.

In other news, Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez have received NBA ownership approval for their purchase of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx. Minovia Therapeutics, an Israeli biotech company, is set to go public via a reverse merger. Parkland, a Canadian fuel distributor, has announced a $9.1 billion takeover by Sunoco. And Santander has agreed to sell seven Pennsylvania branches to Community Bank. Tritax Big Box REIT has also made a move by acquiring Warehouse REIT for £485.2 million.

On the fundraising front, Avista Healthcare Partners raised a continuation fund for GCM, while Counterpart Ventures raised $132 million for its third fund. Kaya, a Czech venture firm, raised €70 million for its fifth fund, and Norrsken Foundation of Sweden committed to investing €300 million into European startups using “AI for good.” Lastly, some notable personnel changes include G.J. Hart joining restaurant-focused VC firm Emerging as managing partner, and Will Keesler leaving Cortec Group to join Watchtower Capital as a managing partner.

Overall, the financial landscape is buzzing with M&A deals, fundraising activities, and key personnel changes. It will be interesting to see how these developments shape the future of the financial industry.

Stay Well!
