Hey there! I’m excited to share some great news with you today. First off, there’s a new study reporting that the Ebola vaccine has been found to reduce the risk of death in people who were already infected with the virus. This is a huge step forward in the fight against Ebola. Additionally, researchers have discovered that South Asians may have a higher risk of heart disease due to differences in how their blood vessels repair damage caused by cardiovascular problems.

In other news, the rates of maternal syphilis in the US have tripled between 2016-2022, which is definitely cause for concern. On a positive note, a study has found that a plant-based diet may be linked to better sexual health in men with prostate cancer, which is great news for those undergoing treatment. However, the study participants were primarily white health professionals, so more research is needed to see if these results apply to other groups.

Lastly, it’s been found that more than 2 million people have been removed from Texas’ Medicaid program since federal pandemic-era coverage protections were lifted last April. While this is a concerning statistic, it’s important to remember that there are still options available for those who have lost coverage.

I hope you found these updates as interesting and informative as I did. Stay tuned for more positive news and health insights in the next newsletter!

Take care,

Summy
